Cookies and similar technologies

This policy explains how MGR Music Tuition Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies on Guitar Lessons Middlesbrough. Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Other technologies, including local storage and embedded services, can also store or access information on your device. The UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) apply to these activities, alongside data protection law where personal information is involved.

The website does not load an analytics or advertising service of its own. Its navigation, article contents and enquiry fields do not use cookies or persistent browser storage. External services are described below; not using our own tracking cookies does not mean those services are cookie-free.

When external services load

Google verification loads when you first focus an enquiry form on the live website, before submission. The Google map is embedded directly and uses browser lazy loading, so it can connect to Google as you approach it on the page without interacting with it.

There are no separate “Allow” or withdrawal controls for these features on this website. You can email us instead of using the enquiry form. Your browser’s privacy settings can restrict third-party cookies and other storage; this does not necessarily prevent technical information being sent when an embedded service loads.

Continuing to browse or focusing a form is not, by itself, consent to optional cookies. Storage or access that is not covered by a PECR exception requires prior consent. A security purpose does not automatically exempt every activity of a third-party service, and browser settings do not replace any consent that we are required to obtain.

Loading is controlled by the browser and the service, so the precise timing can vary. Lazy loading delays a connection; it does not wait for cookie consent. Using the map may cause further requests beyond those made when the embedded feature first loads.

Enquiry verification: Google reCAPTCHA

Purpose: to help distinguish people from automated submissions and protect the enquiry service against spam and abuse. It loads when you focus an enquiry form on the live website. The form cannot send without successful verification; emailing us is an alternative.

Information and storage: Google processes technical information such as your IP address, browser information and verification activity. Google documents the _GRECAPTCHA cookie for risk analysis. Other Google storage or cookies may be involved depending on the service, your browser settings and existing Google cookies. See Google’s reCAPTCHA cookie documentation.

Provider: Google. Its current reCAPTCHA data-processing guidance describes Google as a processor of customer data for security, fraud and abuse prevention. MGR Music Tuition is responsible for its use of the service; linking to provider documentation does not transfer that responsibility to you.

Duration: Google sets the expiry of its verification cookies. Reloading this website does not delete those cookies. You can inspect or clear them through your browser’s site-data controls.

Map features

Google Maps: the location section of the FAQs offers an embedded map. The browser can load the map as you approach it on the page. Once loaded, Google receives technical information and may store or access information on your device. The written location and a separate directions link are also provided.

Google sets the cookies and storage used by these services, including their expiry. MGR Music Tuition remains responsible for the external features it chooses to include and for meeting the applicable information and consent requirements. Depending on the service and your settings, some information lasts for a browser session and some may persist until its expiry or until you clear it. The information and storage involved can differ between a fresh browser and one with existing Google cookies or a signed-in Google account. Browser restrictions and your Google settings can also affect the result. We do not promise that signing out, using private browsing or not interacting with the map prevents all connections or device storage.

Managing cookies and browser settings

Use your browser’s privacy or site-data settings to block or delete cookies and other storage, including data associated with Google’s domains. Blocking verification can prevent form submission; you can email us instead.

Deleting cookies does not undo information already sent to a provider. Closing or leaving a page stops its active embedded features, but returning to the page can load them again. Blocking third-party cookies does not necessarily prevent a service from receiving your IP address when it connects.
