Choosing a lesson length

The £12, 20-minute lesson is for primary-school children. Secondary-school students normally move to 30 or 60 minutes; if a shorter lesson would be more appropriate in particular circumstances, discuss it with Dave.

Thirty minutes is the standard lesson length for a wide range of learners. An hour offers more time for songs, technique, theory and questions. Adults can choose 30 or 60 minutes according to their goals, time and budget.

A 30-minute guitar lesson works well when we focus on a clear task: reviewing a chord change, developing a picking pattern or working through part of a song. An hour gives us more time to combine technique, theory and playing. Regular practice between sessions matters whichever length you choose.

Planning your lesson budget

Guitar lessons are pay as you go, with weekly or fortnightly sessions subject to availability. Four 20-minute lessons cost £48, four half-hours £70 and four hours £140. These examples cover four sessions, not a fixed monthly charge. Two half-hour lessons cost £35; two one-hour lessons cost £70.

Individual guitar lessons

The prices above apply to individual guitar lessons with Dave. The Guitar Workshop is a separate adult group for existing private students; ask Dave about its arrangements and price.

Gift vouchers

Gift vouchers can be arranged for guitar lessons. Confirm availability and the applicable terms before purchasing. The previously advertised arrangement is to begin within three months of purchase and use the lessons within three months of starting; ask Dave to confirm the current dates before buying. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Cancelling or rearranging

Please give me as much notice as possible. The advertised policy is no fee with more than 72 hours’ notice and up to the full lesson fee with less than 72 hours’ notice. If we can rearrange within the same week, there is no cancellation fee. If I cancel, or move a lesson to a time you cannot attend, there is no lesson charge. Any cancellation charge must reflect the loss incurred, taking account of a refilled slot or costs saved, and your statutory rights still apply. Please confirm the arrangements, including the exact 72-hour boundary, before booking.

You will receive the full arrangements before booking. Ask Dave about availability or read the website terms.
