Music Venues in Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough boasts a great music scene.

Here at Guitar Lessons Middlesbrough we are passionate about encouraging our guitar students to go and experience as much local music as they can.

It is a great way of learning about guitarist stagecraft and live performance, as well as inspiring you to get up on the stage and start gigging. To help you along your way we have drawn together a list of a few of the most significant local music venues that you should be checking out as a guitarist in Middlesbrough.

The Empire

The Empire, built-in 1897 as a music hall, has played host to a variety of performers from Charlie Chaplin to Paul Oakenfold to the Scissor Sisters. Located on Corporation Road, TS1 2RT bands like The Darkness, Kaiser Chiefs, Editors, Kasabian, Scissor Sisters, BRMC, Fun Lovin Criminals, Goldie Lookin Chain, Bloc Party, Dead 60s, Pil, Imelda May, Big Country, Ian Brown, to name but a few, have all performed here in the past few years. Middlesbrough Town Hall

Middlesbrough Town Hall is another venue that local music fans make their way too on occasions, though in recent times it has been more the stage of the UK's finest comedians coming to tour in Middlesbrough. It is worth keeping your eye on their listings in case one of the up and coming bands doing a national tour decide on this venue when visiting the North East.

Libertys

Libertys is the best venue in the area for up and coming bands to play live. They have a great function room that is available for hire & they are located right in the centre of town. Bands of all genres have played and still play at this well known local venue. It is also a pub and has a wide selection of drinks available as well as a food menu as well. You can find the venue at 262-266 Linthorpe Rd, Middlesbrough TS1 3QS.
